Russian construction companies may take part in tenders for the construction of new lines in Tehran and for rolling stock purchase.
The city’s Mayor, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, told RIA Novosti about this in an interview. According to him, 100 metro stations have already been built, with a length of lines totaling 200 km. 50km of lines are planned to be built over the coming 2 years. Cooperation with Russia will allow Iran to use its experience, especially in management, control and exploitation as well as in security systems in the metro, Ghalibaf said.
