A plan for the construction of a new toll highway, connecting Kislovodsk and Sochi, has been presented to the Russian government.




According to the Minister of Construction, Road Facilities and Transport of the Stavropol region, Igor Vasiliev, within the framework of the project two tunnels are to be built. The investment will total 80 bln roubles.

The total length of the road will be 240 km, and 8 km will pass through the Stavropol region towards Kislovodsk – Mirny. The rest of the tunnel will be in Karachay-Cherkessia, and 48 km more in the Krasnodar region.

Beside this, the project also involves the construction of two 7.5 km tunnels.
