The construction of the Russian section of the highway from Europe to Western China will cost over 780 bln roubles. The government might defray half of these expenses, reports “Izvestia” newspaper.
The Europe – Western China International transport route, crossing Russian territory, will be presented on the 21st and 22nd of April in Shanghai.
According to the document, the total length of the Russian section of the highway will be 2,192 km long, and a further 2,787 km will pass through the territory of Kazakhstan. 3,181 km will cross China.
The cost of the Moscow – Kazan section is currently estimated at 438 bln roubles, the Shali – Bavly section at 136 bln roubles, the Bavly – Kumertau section at 115 bln roubles, and the Kumertau – Sagarchin section at 94 bln roubles.
Up to the half of the capital cost might be allocated from the federal budget, and the rest will be covered by concession operators. The construction time is assessed at four years.
