Investors from the Middle East and the Russian Direct Investments Fund decided to pour 7 bln roubles into the reconstruction of “Don” M-4 highway at its Rostov – Krasnodar section.
The funds will be allotted to the reconstruction, maintenance, overhaul and toll exploitation of this federal road, the head of the Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, told reporters on Tuesday in Moscow.
This is the first project implemented by the Russian Direct Investments Fund jointly with the Russian Highways company through specially established Road Investment Company. The entity serves as a platform, on a basis of which investment projects for road infrastructure are to be developed.
“For a number of our infrastructure partners, some projects might be insufficiently attractive due to their relatively small size. However, having put them together and having thoroughly elaborated them, we will be able to ensure a required scope of the projects, which might be of interest to the leading Middle Eastern sovereign funds”, - said head of the Russian Direct Investments Fund.
At the same time, Kirill Dmitriev reminded that the Fund has a special focus on the infrastructure projects, which account for more than a quarter of the current Fund’s portfolio and over the third of all projects.
