Russian Special Construction Agency (Spetsstroy) is implementing now 31 state contracts on the construction of the military infrastructure in the Arctic region.

In particular, the work is carried out at the construction sites of the Wrangel Island, the Frantz Josef Land Archipelago, the Schmidt peninsula, the Tiksi and Rogachevo villages, the Agency’s press office told Construction.RU.

In addition, on behalf of the Russian Armed Forces, a design engineering work and a construction of the special purpose facilities is underway in the cities of Anadyr, Norilsk, Vorkuta, Severomorsk and Alakurtti village.

The major portion of new facilities are planned to be completed by the end of 2016, according to the schedule approved by the Defense Minister of Russia, Sergei Shoigu.

This will ensure timely commissioning of the combat sites, administrative and residential buildings, so that Russian Arctic military unit could efficiently pull duty.
