In the next four years, Russian Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Communications (Roskomnadzor) will establish media police.
Media policemen will search for and suppress breaches of law by means of monitoring of websites personally or through special programs, Roskomnadzor's press office told Construction.RU on Friday.
In particular, the matter concerns misuse of information and cyber crime. According to the project initiator, the number of such violations will increase in future. At present, such functions are partially performed by Roskomnadzor and the League of Safe Internet. Nevertheless, given the persistent growth of cyber crimes, a special profession of media police will be required.
