The Government of Great Britain informed the French authorities that it had approved the project of construction of Hinkley Point nuclear power plant, AFP reports citing the source in France.
According to the source, Paris was given the green light under certain conditions. No details were revealed.
As it was reported earlier, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Theresa May, was to make an announcement as early as on Monday, but it took the Cabinet some time to make latest amendments.
Project for construction of French – Chinese Hinkley Point NPP on the territory of Great Britain became a point of significant contention in the relations between London and Beijing. In July, the UK postpones the project endorsement due to Theresa May’s discontentment about the participation of a Chinese company, China General Nuclear, in its implementation.
