Jon Voight, a 77 year-old American actor and a father and actress Angelina Jolie, called on newly elected President Donald Trump to keep his word and construct a wall on the US-Mexico border, The Evening Standard reports.
According to Jon Voight, who voted for Republicans unlike his daughter supporting Democrats, this measure is needed to prevent drug trafficking across the border into America.
“If you lived on those borders, you wouldn't be too happy about it,” explained Jon Voight.
During the presidential campaign, the actor publicly supported Donald Trump and now expressed his satisfaction over the businessman’s triumph.
As a reference, Trump promised to erect the wall on the border between the USA and Mexico in June 2015. Before that, he labelled Mexican immigrants as rapists and criminals.
