Construction of greenhouses with an area of 4 hectares intended for all-the-year-around vegetable production started in the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod, within the framework of implementation of an import substitution project.
The food will be produced upon a photoculture technology, the press office of the regional Ministry of Agriculture announced on Monday.
“The enterprise is implementing an investment project with the support from the regional budget and it is aimed at technical re-equipment of existing boiler-house, reconstruction of 4 hectares of greenhouses and establishing production of vegetables upon a photoculture technology with the use of interplanting,” the message reads.
The use of new technology will allow the enterprise to raise up to 9,600 tons of vegetables annually.
