A draft law on new sanctions against Russia, prepared by a group of American senators, relates to financial and energy sectors of Russian economy, the media reports on Tuesday.

The document has been worked out by five Republican and five Democrats’ senators, the statement reads. The proposed law envisages sanctions against legal entities and individuals, which invest over $20 million in Russian industry of hydrocarbon production, including both goods supply and provision of services and technologies.

The sanctions will be imposed upon investors putting the funds of over $5 million in Russia’s construction of pipelines, as well as investors injecting more than $1 million in civil nuclear facilities. The sanctions will concern not only U.S. registered entities and citizens, but those of other countries as well.
