Researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have created a mobile 3D printer to build houses, CNN reported on Tuesday.

According to the TV channel, the system allows for less than 14 hours to build load-bearing structures of round shape, with the diameter of about 15 meters and the height of about 4 meters.

A 3D printer is installed at the place where it is planned to build a house, then the manipulators automatically create the frame of a building from inside made of a special foam. After the process is completed, the printer is removed from the premises.

Experts of the Institute noted that that method could significantly reduce the cost and accelerate construction, as well as to make it more secure.
