The Executive Service of the Ukrainian Justice Ministry, at the request of the Antimonopoly Committee, has initiated a case over the recovery of a penalty in the amount of $6.4 billion from Gazprom and the seizure of its property in Ukraine.
This is what a representative of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, Mikhail Novitsky, said in the court in Kiev today. According to him, the property in such amount is hard to arrest, that is why the Committee will consider how to collect the debt in other way.
We should remind you that today the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine refused to satisfy a cassation appeal filed by Gazprom Holding Company against the decisions of Ukrainian courts of the previous instances. These rulings oblige Gazprom to pay a fine in the amount of 172 billion hryvnias ($6.4 billion).
