Since June this year, Volvo Vostok, a company managing Volvo plants in Russia, will increase production of trucks at its plant in the Kaluga region, Russia, up to 24 vehicles per day.
This is what the Director of Kaluga plant of Volvo Group Trucks said over the course of a visit to the factory of the region’s Governor, Anatoly Artamonov. Currently, the company produces 18 trucks per day. Thus, the output will grow by a third.
In addition, the company is considering a possibility to expand the localization of production, in particular, there is a project for the production of frames for trucks in Russia, but, according to the head of the enterprise, it is a long term plan.
