Construction Minister attends opening of new waste sorting plant

The Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of Russia, Mikhail Menn, took part in the opening ceremony at a new waste sorting plant in the city of Ivanovo.




The enterprise is designed to process 120,000 tons of waste per year. According to the Minister, the plant’s opening is a landmark for the region and is especially important, since it took place in the Year of Ecology in Russia. The enterprise will sort all municipal solid waste of the region’s center and major municipalities.

A volume of investment in construction activities at the site and the equipment of the plant amounts to 200 million rubles ($3,4 million). Approximately 80 new jobs are expected to be created at the enterprise.
