The first batch of Russian self-propelled air defense systems have already been delivered to the Egyptian military, according to media reports.
Photos of the unloading of starting containers with S-300V complexes, presumably conducted in the port of Alexandria, have been published by Menadefense.
Experts note that the matter possibly concerns at least receiving of three regiments of the Army’s antiaircraft defense systems of Russian production.
According to experts, the manufacturer and the Ministry of Defense have begun to fulfill the contract as early as March, when an auxiliary equipment for Antey-2500 complexes had been shipped to Egypt.
As a reference, the S-300V air defense missile system was developed to engage ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as strategic and tactical aircraft.
