The largest in Israel aquarium will open on July 4 in the territory of the Biblical zoo in Jerusalem, the press office of the country’s Ministry of Tourism reports on Wednesday.
“A major oceanarium named Gottesman and containing 30 separate aquariums of various sizes will open in the territory of the Biblical zoo,” the message reads.
The oceanarium with an area of 6,000 square meters will display more than 100 species of marine life, which can be found in the Mediterranean and Red seas and the Sea of Galilee. In addition, visitors will be able to see corals and various algae.
“This is the first oceanarium in the Middle East, which is located in the city and has no outlet to the sea”, the document says.
