Gazprom, a Russian gas holding, estimates the cost of construction of two strings of a gas pipeline envisaged by Turkish Stream project at $6 billion, Chairman of the company’s Board, Andrey Kruglov, announced at a press conference on Thursday.
Turkish Stream is a project for a natural gas pipeline, which will run from the southern Russian region of Krasnodar, across the Black Sea, to Turkey. The project was announced by President of Russia Vladimir Putin three years ago, and was intended to replace South Stream project cancelled due to Europe’s stance over that issue.
Speaking at the press conference, Andrey Kruglov has also noted that, in 2017, Gazprom will be guided by an average price of Russian gas export at $180 per thousand cubic meters.
