As RIA Novosti reports, President Putin has arrived on board the Pioneering Spirit pipe-laying ship in the Black Sea to take part in the process of mating the shallow-water and deep-water parts of the Turkish Sream pipe-line.
The captain of the ship, Fred Regtop, President of the Allseas company, Edward Heerema, and Head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, met the RF President on board the ship.
During his stay on board Putin will inspect the area of pipe sections welding, will learn the details of the Turkish Stream project implementation, visit the main welding shop where he will watch the mating of the deep-water and shallow-water parts of the Turkish Stream.
The Pioneering Spirit is the biggest construction ship in the world, it is 477 m long and 124 m wide. It may load 27,000 tons of pipes at a time which gives an opportunity to work autonomously for 5-7 days.
