The Ukrainian company Naftogaz may request a Swiss court to arrest shares of Nord Stream AG, which is an operator of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, and Nord Stream 2 AG (the Nord Stream 2 project) owned by Gazprom.

These measures may be implemented within the Russian holding's recovery of damages in the amount of $2,56 billion, Chief Commercial Director of Naftogaz, Yuri Vitrenko, told Ukrainian media.

He has specified that the company is going to apply to European courts for an enforced recovery, to obtain the relevant orders of European courts and start collecting assets of Gazprom in Europe. Mr. Vitrenko has added that the gas which in Europe belongs to Gazprom and is stored in underground gas storage facilities can be seized by Naftogaz.

“We can apply to a Swiss court and arrest shares of Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2”, he claims.
