Russian specialists from MosGorTransNIIProekt, a Moscow-based Institute, have developed a transport model for the largest city of Cote d'Ivoire — Abidjan.
This is what Interfax news agency reported on Tuesday with reference to the Institute. The project was commissioned by the Canadian company WSP Group which prepared a project for the arrangement of a high-speed bus in Abidjan.
As the institute’s researchers note, at present, there is a rather complicated transport situation in the city, which is primarily due to the fact that most people prefer taking a taxi. This negatively affects the roads and contribute to traffic jams.
“We have considered several options for the development of a transport system, which will increase the connectivity between the districts of Abidjan and redistribute the passenger flows,” the institute director, Alexander Polyakov, said.
