The Moscow authorities decided to extend the Solntsevo underground line stretching from Rasskazovka station to Vnukovo.
As Interfax news agency reported today referring to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, who met with the airport staff on the day of celebrating the 77th anniversary of Vnukovo international airport. After the project is implemented, Vnukovo will become the only airport in the country with its own metro station.
As a reference, Vnukovo international airport situated 28 km southwest of the centre of Moscow, is one of the four largest airports of Russia’s capital city and is the third-busiest airport in the country.
In addition, starting September 1, the Moscow authorities will launch a night bus route, allowing passengers to get from Moscow directly to the airport.
