The Crimean bridge is planned to be equipped with transport security systems, which will be installed by the only company that has applied for the relevant tender.

As RIA Novosti reported on Wednesday with reference to information published on the website of public procurement, the contractor is the company S-DSU 111, with which the contract will be signed by the Directorate of Departmental Security at the Transport Ministry of the Russian Federation. The tender was announced in August but an application meeting all requirement was received only from one participant — S-DSU 111.

The contract cost amounts to 2,98 billion rubles (about $44 million). According to the tender documentation, the winner undertakes to complete all work on the installation of transport security systems until November 20 next year.

As a reference, the 19-kilometer bridge to Crimea from the Krasnodar Territory is the longest in Russia. Launching vehicular traffic was originally planned for December, but the work has been completed ahead of schedule. On may 15, President Vladimir Putin opened the automobile part of the bridge across the Kerch Strait.
