By July this year, in the Vostochny cosmodrome (Amur region), construction of the launch facility for the carrier rocket "Soyuz-2" will be completely finished.
As reported today in Construction.ru and by the press service of Spetsstroy, general construction readiness of the facility is now at 85%. Concrete work on the ground level has already been completed, as has the installation of heating and cooling facilities, the installation of internal engineering systems and finishing works, metal insulation coating, the waterproofing of walls and ventilation ducts.
Now starting construction is a multi-storey reinforced concrete structure, the upper part of which is at the level of the launch pad, with a wide opening in the center (fire ring) that goes deep into the flue. We remind you that the Vostochny cosmodrome is being built near the town of Uglegorsk in the Amur region; the first launch of the carrier rocket is scheduled for 2015, the first launch of a manned spacecraft in 2018.
Construction work must be completed before 30th November 2015. "Vostochny" is designed to provide independent access to space and the facilitating of a wide range of space missions within Russia.
