A modern new town will be built on a greenfield site on the Volkovskoe settlement in the Ruza district (Moscow region).
The head of the municipal authorities, Maxim Tarkhanov, has told journalists about this in Moscow. According to him, 7.8, m2 of realty will be built on a territory of 4,700 hectares by 2050, including 5.7m m2 of housing for 100,000 people. The houses, up to 4 floors high, are planned to be built as mainly townhouses and cottages. The first citizens will move there in 2020.

Almost 54,000 new jobs will be created in the new town. 24 bln roubles will be spent on the construction of social infrastructure, including 6 polyclinics, 50 nursery schools, 17 schools, sports complexes, a theater, etc.
The project of the new settlement, with the working name of “New Ruza”, has already been adopted by the City Council, and the regional Department for Architecture and Urban Development has already developed the general plan of Volkovskoe settlement as the basis for the construction of the future town.
