More than 70% of high-rise buildings in the world (3,818) have been constructed with the use of reinforced concrete structures.
The Vice-President of the Russian Architecture and Construction Academy, Vladimir Travush, spoke about this at a forum on high-rise construction in Moscow. According to him, 922 buildings 100-820 m high were constructed with the use of steel structures and 555 with the use of composites. It is difficult to say which of the materials is better and so their rational combination is preferable, Travush stressed.
