On a basis of Cherepovetsk Casting and Mechanical Plant, Russian-Belorussian machine-building cluster producing farm equipment and municipal vehicles has been established in the Vologda region, RIA Novosti reports.
The project was endorsed by Russian Industry and Trade Ministry.
As governor of the Vologda region, Oleg Kuvshinnikov, told reporters on Friday, the volume of investments will amount to over 300m roubles in the coming years. With deep localization of production, the output of tractor machinery in the Vologda region will increase twofold and exceed three thousand of items.
This will be the first Russian-Belorussian machine-building cluster producing tractors. According to Kuvshinnikov, the parties have also agreed the creation of the largest transport and logistic company engaged in cargo transportation between Russia and Belarus.
