In case Israel starts demolition of Sussia, the Palestinian village, the USA will “respond harshly”, reports Haaretz on the 10th of August, citing Israeli and American officials.
However, the same reaction to the destruction of Sussia’s houses is expected to be for the part of representatives from the European Union and the UK government. In particular, the British Foreign Office warned that it would find it difficult to go on rendering a help to Israel in international platforms, if the village were demolished.
Israel argues that this “international pressure” have been provoked by the Palestinian Authority, which appealed to the USA and some other Western countries. Meanwhile, the Israeli officials claim that at present the Israeli government doesn’t plan to destroy Sussia.
Earlier, the right-wing movement Regavim submitted a petition saying that the village was built illegally and for that reason must be demolished.
