This year, Gazprom will set a new record for supplies to Germany and this European country will become the EU’s leader in consumption of Russian gas, Gazprom CEO, Alexey Miller, said on Tuesday at Saint Petersburg International Gas Forum.
Also, according to Alexey Miller, gas consumption in Germany increased by 6,8% in the first half of the year. In 2015, Germany purchased 45,3 bln cubic meters of Russian gas, what is 17% more than in 2014. Over the course of 9 months, an export volume to Germany increased by 1,9 bln cubic meters more.
As a reference, VI Saint Petersburg International Gas Forum will last until the 7th of October. The event is attended by top managers of the largest oil and gas companies, representatives from innovation centers and research institutions, as well as experts and academics.
