A dramatically increased number of Americans suddenly started looking at moving to New Zealand following the victory of Republican candidate Donald Trump, Washington Post reports on Thursday.

New Zealand attracts attention of Americans for its spectacular environment and socially progressive policies. Having little population on its territory, about 4.4 million people, New Zealand is among the best places to live in.

Recently, New Zealand ranked first in Legatum Institute’s global prosperity index. Some well-known U.S. personalities have already named New Zealand as a place of destination, among them there are US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and American comedian Billy Crystal.

Immigration NZ's website also sees a surge of visitors from the USA.
