Administration of Bryansk, the city situated in central Russia, intends to allocated 5 billion rubles to the reconstruction of an airport located in the area, TASS news agency reports on Wednesday.




Modernization program for the international airport of Bryansk is expected to be launched as early as the next year. The project is estimated at amount of up to 5 billion rubles.

Reconstruction of the airport involves construction of a new airfield and modification of the existing one.

As a reference, Bryansk, the city with population of over 400,000 people, is 379 kilometers southwest of Moscow. The city has a railway connection with the capital of Russia since the 19th century.

Bryansk is an important center for steel and machinery manufacturing, and is home to many large factories.
