A zoo for children is planned to be put in operation in Moscow in between May and March, following the reconstruction, a director general of Moscow Zoo, Svetlana Akulova, told reporters on Wednesday.
According to her, an area of the children's zoo, which will be a part of the whole zoo, amounts to about 1 hectare. The concept of the children's zoo reconstruction has already been prepared, a tender for building contractor has announced.
The building contractor has to be selected by the end of the first quarter this year, chief engineer of the project, Baltaz Guldayev, said.
The children's zoo will include Russia's largest contact zone with an area of 1,500 square meters. In particular, landscape structures, including swings, tramps and climbing wall for goats, will emerge there.
