Skanska, a company based in Sweden, will engage in renovation of the Olympic stadium in Helsinki, The Global Construction Review reports on the 13th of February.
The Helsinki city council concluded a $166m contract with Skanska to implement a project envisaging the renovation of the seating and running track, as well as the extension of the roof to cover all the stands and terraces.
The stadium’s underground section will include new facilities for sports, gyms and maintenance. A total area allotted to the project will amount to 90,000 square metres.
The renovated stadium is intended to host sports and cultural events of international scale.
