On Wednesday, the first Vice-Premier of China, Zhang Gaoli met in Beijing with Chairman of Gazprom Board, Alexey Miller, the press service of Chinese State Council reports.
“Over the course of the last years, under the leadership of Chinese President XI Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, our countries have been achieving new successes within the framework of energy cooperation, including gas supply. This shows that Chinese-Russian relations of comprehensive cooperation have reached new heights,” - Deputy Head of the Chinese government said.
Zhang Gaoli noted that Moscow and Beijing should start to even closer cooperation in the field of production and supply of oil. He also mentioned the prospect of major gas projects such as Eastern Stream and Yamal. According to the Vice Prime Minister, the Chinese party is committed to mutually beneficial cooperation, with the consideration of mutual risks. He expressed hope that this partnership would develop dynamically in the future as well.
