The incident took place during a wedding ceremony of 29-year-old groom Andrew and 26-year-old bride Emmy in Hertfordshire county situated in southeast of England.
The newly wedded couple celebrated their marriage with friends and relatives in Holiday Inn hotel. They decided to take a photo on a wooden staircase leading from the second floor to the street. Fifteen people gathered on the staircase at least ten feet, after what the structure collapsed, having caused injuries to wedding guests’ legs, heads and necks.
Five of them were taken to hospital with serious injuries last Saturday, The Sun reports.
“People were screaming, it was horrendous,” recalled one of the guests.
