Gas transit via Turkish Stream to Italy discussed by Gazprom and Greece

Secretary General of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Greece for international economic relations, Giorgos Tsipras, believes that Turkish Stream gas pipeline will enhance energy security in South-Eastern Europe and will be an important step in the diversification of gas supplies.


This is stated in a message released by the Russian gas holding company following the meeting between Giorgos Tsipras and Alexey Miller, the head of Gazprom.

Alexey Miller and Giorgos Tsipras concurred that implementation of a new pipeline project for gas export to South and South-Eastern part of Europe is an important step in the diversification of supply routes, as well as will significantly increase energy security of Greece and other countries in the region”, - the holding company’s statement reads.
