Gazprom to deliver 2,5 million tons of LNG to India next year

Gazprom corporation will start deliveries of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the amount of 2,5 million tons to India in 2018, Deputy Energy Minister of Russia, Yury Sentyurin, told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.




“We are at the stage of the beginning of LNG supplies (to India – editor’s note). A document has been signed with Indians, and in 2018 to the deliveries will begin. This is Gazprom's portfolio, Gazprom Marketing and Trading Singapore supplier, on the other hand, it is Indian company GAIL. The amount is contracted and is about 2.5 million tons per year,” Yury Sentyurin said.

According to him, the supplies of LNG to India can be carried out not only from the project for LNG production in Sakhalin, but also from the new Yamal LNG plant.
