Chinese HSI invests $150m in tea production in Moscow region

Hunan Super Industrial (HSI), a manufacturer of products from China, plans to invest $150 million in construction of an enterprise in the Moscow region for the production of tea, canned fruit and juices.




This is what Kommersant newspaper reports with a reference to CEO of the Corporation for Moscow Region Development, Timur Andreev. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China will be engaged in the financing of the project. HSI plans to select a site for the construction by this summer, the estimated project implementation period is five years.

In Russia, the Chinese company operates through Ekoti LLC, which filed a request for the location of the enterprise last week.

The projected facility will be designed to produce 1,5 million tons of tea, 40,000 tons of canned fruit and 10,000 tons of juices under the brands of Shennun, Shaolin and Xipu. Raw materials will be delivered from Hunan province of China.
