The head of the Russian government, Dmitry Medvedev, has assigned 10 bln roubles, drawn through fees, to the “Russian Toll System –Platon”.
As a reference, the new rule applies to heavy duty vehicles and is designed to raise funds for financing road repairs in the regions.
During the meeting on measures for improving the conditions of regional and municipal roads, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev proposed the selection of the RF subjects and cities most in need of state support, says the document published on the government’s website.
Mr Medvedev told the Finance Ministry and Transport Ministry of Russia to prepare and introduce their plans to expand the use of money from the road funds.
This money might be allotted to the purchase of road-building machinery as well as to other exigencies connected with road construction.
