Moscow. Our special correspondent, Alexei Nevsky. A special meeting of ministers Manturov and Sokolov on the issue of road construction was announced at the expanded sitting of the NO “Soyuzcement” board members in the congress center of Moscow’s “Swissotel Red Hills” hotel.
The President of JSC “EUROCEMENT Group”, Mikhail Skorokhod (on the right in the photo), said in his speech that the current situation, with the load limit of 25 tons on the roads, has resulted in cement and concrete trucks only being loaded one-third full. This makes automobile transportation of cement and concrete unprofitable.
The problem was raised more than once at different meetings by construction industry representatives, but has not been solved yet. The First Deputy Minister of Industry, Gleb Nikitin, who was present at the meeting (in the center in the photo), admitted that the problem exists and pledged to start solving it. Two high-profile ministers, Denis Manturov and Maxim Sokolov, will meet in September in Krasnodar.

To remind you, Russian laws do not allow a load of more than 25 tons per automobile on roads. Actually, the opposite happens: cement and concrete carrying vehicles do not observe this norm and add to road wear. To change the situation, it will be necessary to alter the road construction standards, and the sooner the better. Time will show if the two ministers have the will for this.
