The first Russian museum for the Russian expatriate community is to become one of the best in Russia, due to its collection and technical equipment. Construction will start soon.
The RF President Vladimir Putin announced this at the Congress of Compatriots in Moscow. According to him, the museum will become part of the Russian Expatriate Community House named after Alexander Solzhenytsin.
During the 20 years of its existence, the Russian Expatriate Community House has been presented with a quarter of a million artefacts, archive documents, books, pictures by outstanding painters, autograph collections and other paraphernalia from famous writers, politicians, public figures and thinkers. This indicates that, even in dramatic circumstances, Russian people abroad did their best for their ancestors and did not forget where they came from. Now this priceless intellectual and cultural heritage will serve Russia and its people, as the contributors would have wished.
