According to the head of the RF Federal Migration Service, Konstantin Romodanovsky, at present, over 600,000 refugees from Ukraine have decided to spend their lives in Russia.
He referred to data showing that nearly 18 bln roubles was allotted for the purpose of rendering help to the Ukrainian settlers in 2014-2015.
The money is to assist with living conditions and social protection of refugees. It has been noted that the former Ukrainians don’t have problems with integration into Russian society, since they share a common language and history, and have a proper understanding of Russian culture and customs.
At present, additional quotas for temporary residence have been established for Ukrainian refugees. They have been provided with the option of registering as asylum seekers within 3 days, getting the right to work without authorization and getting assistance in employment as well as receiving health care.
