The Russian government intends to invest about 200m roubles in the design of sports facilities in Crimea.
This is what, on Thursday, the Sports Minister, Vitaly Mutko, told reporters in Gorki in the Moscow region. According to his assessment, the island’s sports industry lags behind the federal one, and it lacks projects for development.
Beside this, many facilities have been abandoned and their construction hasn’t been completed. The Crimean authorities have now helped to select 7 priority facilities. These are swimming pools, football stadiums, and training camps.
As soon as the design work is completed, the construction will start, pointed out Mr Mutko. As for the sports schools, they will receive subsidies and two football pitches with fake grass.
