The Russian Investigative Committee for the Irkutsk region has initiated a second criminal case on charges of exceeding official powers with grave consequences against the former mayor of the Irkutsk district, Igor Naumov.
According to the investigators, in 2013-2014 Igor Naumov illegally transferred 42 hectares of land belonging to the Irkutsk State Agrarian University to the “Solnechnaya Polyana” garden partnership. This is what the press office of the regional Investigative Committee told Construction.ru on Monday.
After that, the land plots, bought out from the members of the garden partnership, become the property of a business corporation.
It should be noted that Mr Naumov is also charged in another criminal case, initiated in 2015 and connected with land transfer to the “Mysovoye” garden society.
At present, Mr Naumov is under travel restrictions. If the ex-Mayor is found guilty, he might be sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment.
