On Thursday morning the special operation forces of the Russia Federal Security Service (FSB) stormed the villa of the former Mayor of the city of Derbent, Imam Yaraliev, located in the Russian Caucasus.
The law enforcement agents entered and searched the house, as well as carrying out other investigative procedures, the Life TV Channel reported. The police cordoned off Ataeva Street, where the luxurious villa of the former civil servant is situated.
Also, according to the available data, two of Yaraliev’s apartments in Makhachkala, the capital of the Dagestan Republic, as well as his houses in Arablinka and Ashaga-Stal villages are being searched.
We should remind you that from 1995 till 2006, Imam Yaraliev held the office of the region’s Prosecutor, and was a member of the Public Assembly of Dagestan and of the Republic’s State Council. The official then headed the city administration of Derbent.
In 2015 the Russian Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case against Imam Yaraliev under the Russian Criminal Code article named “Exceeding official powers”.
