On Friday, the house of the former vice president of the Chelyabinsk region, Nikolay Sandakov, was searched by investigators and FSB operatives, the lawyer of the suspect told RIA Novosti.
Sandakov is accused of receiving a 1.3 m rouble bribe, using his official position. Meanwhile, these operational and investigative activities are being conducted within the framework of a new criminal case.
The high-ranking official was arrested once but on the 24th of March the court released him on bail to the tune of 10 m roubles. On the 31st of March, Sandakov was detained again in Chelyabinsk and put under house arrest.
He was charged with taking a bribe under Article 290, part 6 of the Russian Criminal Code. According to the investigators, in 2013-2014 Mr Sandakov received a 1.3mln bribe from the “Piton” company director for the free installation of video surveillance systems.
