Delegation of the Laos government made an offer to Russian companies to implement a project of construction of the Laos-Vietnam pipeline and to build a refinery in Laos.
The proposal was addressed to Russian oil and gas companies Rosneft, Lukoil and Gazprom EP International, the representative of the Russian Energy Ministry told TASS news agency on Monday.
“We know that that Laos is interested in Russian companies being involved in the construction of refining facilities on the territory of the country. In the second half of April 2016, there were negotiations between the Laos government delegation and the management of leading Russian oil and gas companies Rosneft, Lukoil and Gazprom EP International,” the source told the agency.
According to him, at present, Russian companies are examining these proposals, assessing their economic viability.
