The British Airways i360, the tallest moving observation tower in the world, opens to the public on Thursday, the National reports. It includes a glass viewing pod that slowly lifts a thin 162-metre mast.

The object locates on the embankment in Brighton in Britain.

The architects who designed the tower, David Marks and Julia Barfield, also completed the project of the London Eye. The tower is 27 metres taller than the capital’s observation wheel.

The tower construction project is estimated at £46 million and will be the highest viewing platform in the country outside of London.

According to the design, “visitors will be allowed to ‘walk on air’ and gain a new perspective of the city, just as they ‘walked on water’ in the past and viewed the city from the sea”.
