The Moscow authorities intend to make a toll passage at the section of the North-Western span, which is intended to connect the districts in eastern Moscow.
According to Vedomosti, at present, two sections of highway are being designed. They will run from the Otkrytoye and Yaroslavskoye highways to Dmitrovskoye highway.
There will be no traffic-control devices along the highway and the travel time will be reduced more than by 15%. The initiative is intended to alleviate traffic by 20-25% on the Moscow Ring Road and will redistribute traffic flows of the Third Transportation Ring, Shchelkovskoye highway and Enthusiasts’ highway, as well as of the Ryazansky and Volgogradsky prospekts.
The project is estimated at 56 bln roubles. Part of the 11-kilometer highway will be built under the concession agreement and will be a toll road.
