A multiconfessional religious center is planned to be constructed on the territory recently adjoined to Moscow, in Kommunarka village, the head of the Moscow Department of New Territories Development, Vladimir Zhidkin, told Interfax on Tuesday.
“It will be located in a large area of public space, near the embankment. A land plot with an area of approximately 10 hectares are planned to be allotted to the multiconfessional center,” specified Zhidkin.
It is planned that Orthodox Christian, Muslim, Buddhist and Jewish religious centers will compose this complex. The area of each such building will amount to about 2,000 square meters.
Head of the department noted that construction of a multiconfessional center in an administrative and business center of Kommunarka will serve a s an example of religious tolerance.
