The Russian Railways JSC will invest 8,4 billion rubles ($130 million) in preparation of 31 railroad stations in Russia for World Cup 2018, the press release published on the company’s website reads.
These funds will be allotted to reconstruction and improvement of the terminals’ security systems and to make the railroads adapted to people with limited mobility, the statement says. For that purpose, ramps and lifts are planned to be installed, as well as tactual signs and indicators for visually impaired people will be introduced.
The company also announced its intention to mount electronic displays at railroad stations, which will show information both in English and Russian languages.
